Disclosed is a display panel device which is provided with: a pixel section, including a light emitting layer; and a lens (18), which is disposed above the pixel section, covers the light emitting region (LR1) of the light emitting layer, and passes through light emitted from the light emitting layer. The lens (18) has, on the same straight line in the long axis direction of the light emitting region (LR1), the same height from the light emitting surface in the light emitting region (LR1) to the top of the lens (18). In the lens (18), both the end portions of the cross-section on the light outputting side in the long axis direction of the light emitting region (LR1) respectively have elliptical arc shapes having a predetermined curvature.
