Disclosed is a sales system (100) provided with a sales management device (10) and a licence management device (12). The sales management device (10) reports sales information to the licence management device when a recording medium which has digital content recorded thereon has been sold by an end seller to a user through a distribution channel. The licence management device (12) provides to a user terminal (16) a licence enabling use of the digital content on the condition that the sales information has been reported from the sales management device. The sales management device (10), in response to the sale being made to the user, remits some of the selling price to an intermediary seller involved in the distribution of the recording medium.
