The device has a wiper motor driving an output shaft for actuating a wiper lever by a transmission arrangement accommodated in a transmission case (7). The case has a housing base (8) and a transmission cover (9) that are made of plastic and connected with each other in material engagement manner by hot-gas welding. A connection runs along outside limitations of the cover and the base. The base exhibits a support wall within a cavity surrounded by the case, where the cavity is connected with a corresponding bar designed at the cover by the hot-gas welding. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a windscreen wiper device for a motor vehicle.
