<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in home electrical appliances that excellent sterilization and deodorization effects cannot be achieved, while controlling deterioration of the members, at low cost only by using ozone. <P>SOLUTION: For example in a washing machine, an object to be sterilized (laundry) 14 is placed in an inner tub 3, moisture, which is radical material, is supplied to the object to be sterilized (the laundry) 14 with a water spray device 16, the ozone, which is another radical material, is supplied with an ozone-amount regulating means 10, and then light is irradiated with an light-irradiation device which is a radical-conversion means. Thereby, the object to be sterilized (the laundry) 14 is supplied with optimum dose of the moisture and ozone, and radicals are generated on the object to be sterilized (the laundry) 14 efficiently by the light irradiation.
