PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine which one of three-dimensional display and two-dimensional display is suitable for displaying the image data.
SOLUTION: A digital camera that is an imaging device, photographs a subject from different points of viewing concurrently. With respect to photographing, strobe photographing and non-strobe photographing are performed in this order. Two sets of images with parallaxes are prepared through respective photographings. From one set of images, a parallax amount ΔP1 of a main subject and a parallax amount ΔP2 of a background are calculated (S18). When a parallax amount difference ΔX (=¾ΔP1-ΔP2¾) is less than a threshold TH1, a difference of images obtained by the strobe photographing and the non-strobe photographing is taken, and a shadow pixel number SS composing a shadow of the subject is calculated. When the shadow pixel number SS is equal to or more than a threshold TH2, it is determined that the image data is suitable for being displaced in a three-dimensional display mode. When the shadow pixel number SS is less than the threshold TH2, it is determined that the image data is suitable for being displayed in a two-dimensional display mode.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
