<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing molten metal having always competitive strength without being affected by the variation of price of metallic scrap and reduced metal. <P>SOLUTION: A stationary type non-tilting arc-furnace, wherein raw material charging chutes 4, 4 are set at both edge sides 2, 2, electrodes 5 are set at the center part of the furnace width and secondary combustion burners 6 are set at the upper part of the furnace, is used to form a raw material filling-up layer 12 having a downward inclining surface toward the down-part of the electrodes 5, is formed by previously charging the carbonaceous material A from the chutes 4, 4. Successively, carbonaceous material-included oxide metal briquette B and iron scrap S, are charged to form a lumpy metal raw material layer 13 on the inclining surface of the raw material filling-up layer 12 and thereafter, the lower end part of the lumpy metal raw material layer 13 is melted in order by performing the arc-heating with the electrodes 5 to produce the molten iron and also, while dropping down the lumpy metal raw material layer 13 along the inclining surface of the raw material filling-up layer 12, CO-containing gas generated from the lumpy metal raw material layer 13, is burnt with oxygen-containing gas C blown from the secondary combustion burners 6 and the lumpy raw material 13 is heated with this radiated heat. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
