PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry a workpiece to which electrodeposition coating is applied in a suitable state by using a superheated steam drying device. SOLUTION: A heater device 15 superheats steam sent from a boiler device 17 and sends superheated steam to an oven device 13. The oven device 13 stores the workpiece (automobile body 12) to which electrodeposition coating is applied beforehand and dries the automobile body 12 by using the superheated steam from the heater device 15. A temperature within the oven device 13 is measured by a temperature sensor 16a, and in accordance with this, a temperature of gas sent out from the heater device 15 is controlled. A volume concentration of the steam within the oven device 13 is measured by a steam measuring sensor 16b, and in accordance with this, the amount of steam sent out from the boiler device 17 to the heater device 15 is controlled.
