PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoch-making hydraulic-operated punching machine which has large corresponding dimension width and excellent practicability, for punching workpieces of from small size to large size by one machine. SOLUTION: The hydraulic-operated punching machine is constituted so that a die insertion unit 6 for mounting a die 2 on a frame part 5 is provided on the frame part 5, and a cutout end face 7 is formed by cutting off the proximal sides of the die 2, the frame part 5 and the die insertion part 6 in the vertical direction, and the distance from the cutout end face 7 to a punch piercing hole center part 8 of the die 2 is set to the value smaller than the distance from the punch piercing hole center part 8 to a die insertion part distal side end 9, and a workpiece 3 is placed on the die 2, an the tip end of a surface to be punched of the workpiece 3 is pressed against a stopper part 4, or a vertical surface of the workpiece 3 is pressed against the cutout end surface 7 so as to position the workpiece 3 in the longitudinal direction.
