An indexable cutting insert (20) includes at least two side edges (28) each defining an indexable edge (30) of the insert (20) and at least two cutting teeth (40, 42) are on each indexable edge (30). The cutting insert (20) includes locating means (112) on a plane of the upper face (102) and/or a plane of the lower face (110). When mounted on a material removal tool, the locating means (112) cooperate with receivers (524) on the working face (502) of the material removal tool to constrain degrees of freedom of the cutting insert (20). Further, the mounted cutting inserts (410, 410') each locate the radial edge (402, 406, 402', 406') of the cutting teeth in the active position on a common circumference of a circle (412) centered on an axis of rotation of the material removal tool. A mounting system per see is also disclosed as well as a method of removing material from a workpiece with the material removal tool.
