PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device effectively suppressing the degradation of laser characteristics resulting from sticking of a gas generated inside the optical device to an optical component, and also suppressing the inflow of external suspended solids and light leakage simultaneously. SOLUTION: The optical device includes: a semiconductor laser 2 which is a laser light source; a casing 1 for housing the semiconductor laser 2; and a single opening 3 provided on the casing 1 and ventilating the air inside and outside the casing 1.
