PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of reducing a cogging torque and torque pulsation in energization.

SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes: a stator 230 having a stator coil; and a rotor 250 with multiple magnets 254a and 254b provided rotatably with respect to the stator 230. Then, the cogging torque is reduced and the torque pulsation in energization is reduced by providing magnetic gaps 258a and 258b at the positions off the q axis passing the salient pole center in the peripheral direction in a magnetic auxiliary salient pole part 259 formed between the electrodes of the magnets 254a and 254b provided on the rotor 250. The torque pulsation can be reduced by making the off amount differ according to the positions in the axial direction from the q axis of the magnetic gaps 258a and 258b in the peripheral direction so that the torque pulse in energization arising from the magnetic gaps 258a and 258b is cancelled.
