EXCAVATOR AND EXCAVATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavator and an excavation method carrying the earth to be discharged out of a casing easily and reducing a worker's time and labor required for back-filling an excavated hole with the discharged earth. SOLUTION: This excavator 1 includes an auger motor 125 for rotating an auger screw 120 in the first direction and carrying the earth discharged during excavation upward and a storage part 130 connected with an upper end of the casing 110 and storing the earth carried by the auger motor 125 and discharged to the outside of the casing 110. The auger motor 125 rotates the auger screw 120 in the second direction being reverse to the first direction and discharges the discharged earth stored in the storage part 130 into the excavated hole formed by excavation.
