PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power system for an electric railway operating trains, even if an abnormality occurs in a substation. SOLUTION: In this power system, a ground power storage device 4 connected to feeder circuits 6 and 7 is made to perform electric discharge when AC power supplied from an AC power system is converted into DC power and a DC diode substation 1 for supplying DC power to the feeder circuits 6 and 7 becomes an excessive load state, a regeneration function of a PWM converter type substation 5 is stopped and an alarm is outputted from a radio transmitter 3.
