摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which even if a protective layer receives ion sputtering by driving for a long time, there is less change on a protective layer surface on a scanning electrode, and change of discharge characteristics such as write-in characteristics is suppressed. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel that has a front face plates in which the scanning electrode and a sustaining electrode form a discharge gap and are formed in a plurality of numbers as display electrode pairs, and a rear face plate in which a plurality of data electrodes and barrier ribs are formed, and that is constituted by oppositely arranging the front face plate and the rear face plate so that the display electrode pairs and the data electrodes may cross, the distance from the discharge gap to form the main discharge of the display electrode pairs to the barrier ribs parallel to the scanning electrode and neighboring the scanning electrode and the distance from the discharge gap to the barrier ribs parallel to the sustaining electrode and neighboring the sustaining electrode are different.
