PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for preventing cleaning failures and blade missing in a blade cleaning device being one of cleaning systems in an electrophotographic system. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes at least: an image carrier carrying a latent image; an electrifying means; an exposure means writing the latent image; a developing means supplying toner to the latent image to make a visible image; a transfer means transferring the visible image to a transfer medium; and a cleaning blade cleaning the surface of the image carrier after transfer.
