PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an article inspecting apparatus for simply and surely positioning a radiation shield member, relative to a light-receiving element row. SOLUTION: An X-ray detecting section 8 has a platform 21; a substrate 26 disposed on the upper surface of the platform 21; the light-receiving element row 27 disposed on the upper surface of the substrate 26; a scintillator 28 disposed to cover a light-receiving surface of the light-receiving element row 27, a collimator 33 having through-holes 35A, 35B and a slit 34; and columnar members 22A, 22B erected at a predetermined location on the upper surface of the platform 21. The light-receiving element row 27 is positioned under the slit 34 to be parallel to the slit 34, by inserting the columnar members 22A, 22B into the through-holes 35A, 35B, and making a side surface of the substrate 26 abut against the columnar members 22A, 22B.
