<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film expressing optional Re (in-plane phase difference) and Rth (out-of-plane phase difference) and formed of a coating film with low wavelength dependency of phase difference. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation film is a uniaxially stretching optical compensation film formed of a maleimide resin and a cyclic hydrocarbon compound. When the stretching axial direction of the optical compensation film is the x-axis, the direction orthogonal to it is the y-axis, the out-of-plane direction is the z-axis, a refractive index in the x-axis direction is represented by nx, a refractive index in the y-axis direction is represented by ny, and a refractive index in the z-axis direction is represented by nz, the three-dimensional refractive index relationship is nx>ny>nz. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
