PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of metadata to be confidential as much as possible, when the metadata is transmitted to another apparatus. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes a specifying module, an acquisition module, a transmission destination apparatus specifying module, a property value acquisition module, a comparison module, and a transmission module. The specifying module specifies data to be transmitted from data managed by a transmission source apparatus. The acquisition module acquires a property value in metadata of the specified data. The transmission destination apparatus specifying module specifies a transmission destination apparatus for the specified data. The property value acquisition module acquires a property value in metadata of data managed by the transmission destination apparatus specified by the transmission destination apparatus specifying module. The comparison module compares the property value acquired by the property value acquisition module with the property value acquired by the acquisition module. When the property value of the specified data managed by the transmission destination apparatus does not exist as a result of the comparison, the transmission module deletes the property value acquired by the acquisition module corresponding to the property value of the specified data from data specified by the specifying module, and transmits the data.
