PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system having a function of retrieving a file related to a certain file in consideration of the working state of another user. SOLUTION: A document management server 100 includes a user authentication part 120, a file operation part 130, a file operation recording/analyzing part 140 for calculating a relevance between respective files by each user based on a file operation history and recording the relevance in inter-file related information 174, a file retrieving part 150, and a related file retrieving part 160 for detecting a file which is related in work based on the relevance recorded in the inter-file related information 174. The related file retrieving part 160 adds the relevance between the respective files concerning the user requesting file retrieval to the relevance between the respective files concerning one or more other users belonging to a group to which the user belongs, and determines the relevance between the files when the added relevance exceeds a prescribed threshold.
