PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic rotary compressor suppressing vibration and noise of the pipe of a unit refrigerant circuit, a heat exchanger or the like by damping and suppressing vibration transmitted from a sealed vessel to a suction muffler during operation, and also enlarging a compressor operating range. SOLUTION: This hermetic rotary compressor includes: a compressor; the sealed vessel 1 storing a drive means for the compressor; the suction muffler 3 connected to the sealed vessel 1 through a refrigerant suction pipe 5; and a muffler holder 10 fixing the suction muffler 3 to the sealed vessel 1. The muffler holder 10 is formed into a substantially U shape by a vessel-side fixed portion 11 and muffler-side fixed portions 16a, 16b provided at both the ends of the fixed portion 11. Ribs 14a, 14b are provided at corners on the side of the vessel-side fixed portion 11, and reinforcing pieces 15a, 15b respectively bent outward are provided on and under the free ends of the muffler-side fixed portions 16a, 16b.
