PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can perform proper processing when the shade of a photographic lens formed by light emitted from a light emitting part is imaged. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging part for imaging object light through a photographic lens; a light emitting part for irradiating the object with light; a distance obtaining part for obtaining a distance between the imaging part and a main object; a vignetting determining part for performing vignetting determination as to whether the imaging part images the shade of the photographing lens formed by the light emitted from the light emitting part in accordance with the distance obtained by the distance obtaining part and image magnification of the photographic lens; a distance distribution obtaining part for obtaining a distance distribution of objects existing within a field angle of the imaging part; and a vignetting area extracting part for extracting an area in which the shade of the photographic lens is imaged on the basis of the distance distribution, when the vignetting determining part determines that the shade of the photographic lens is imaged.
