PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor always optimizing a pressing force of a movable scroll member to a fixed scroll member. SOLUTION: An annular projecting portion 65b slidably and separably abutting on an elastic body 71 is formed on the side of the back surface 65a of the base 65 of the movable scroll member 45, a suction chamber 51 is partitioned on an outer peripheral side from the projecting portion 65b, and also a back pressure space S is formed on an inner peripheral side from the projecting portion 65b. An opposite wall 64b is provided on the opposite side of the movable scroll member 45 with respect to the elastic body 71, and a deformation allowance recessed portion 64c is formed between the opposite wall 64b and the elastic body 71, and made to serve as a suction pressure area. In association with an increase in pressure of the back pressure space S in comparison with pressure of the deformation allowance recessed portion 64c, the elastic body 71 is separated from the projecting portion 65b while the elastic deformation of the elastic body 71 is allowed in the deformation allowance recessed portion 64c, thereby allowing the back pressure space S to communicate with the suction chamber 51.
