PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability and productivity of an ignition plug by inventing a glass composition for resistor formation capable of sufficiently restraining the emergence of high-frequency noisy radio wave even when the ignition plug is slenderized. SOLUTION: The ignition plug is prepared by using a resistor formation material including a coarse-grained glass powder and a coarse-grained ceramic filler. In the resistor formation material, (1) the coarse-grained glass powder includes 35-60 mass% of SiO<SB>2</SB>, 25-55 mass% of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 1-20 mass% of Li<SB>2</SB>O+Na<SB>2</SB>O+K<SB>2</SB>O, 0-35 mass% of MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO and 0-14 mass% of BaO; (2) the coarse-grained ceramic filler has an average particle diameter D<SB>50</SB>of 50-300 μm; and (3) the content of the coarse-grained ceramic filler is 1-55 mass%.
