<p>A portion of audio content is captured (302) from a network (112), and a time of occurrence of the captured portion of audio content is determined (304). An audio fingerprint is generated (306) based on the captured portion of audio content (302). The generated audio fingerprint is matched (308) to a program scheduled to be recorded. Based on the time of occurrence of the captured portion of audio content, a determination (310) is made as to whether the program is running on schedule. In one aspect, if it is determined that the program is not running on schedule, an adjusted recording start time and/or an adjusted recording end time is calculated (314).
