The system has a carrier element i.e. bumper bracket (1), arranged transverse to a driving direction. Crash boxes (2) are connected with the carrier element, such that an area of the carrier element turned towards a vehicle in a vehicle longitudinal direction (X) lies closer to the vehicle than ends of the crash boxes. The ends of the crash boxes are directed away from the vehicle in the longitudinal direction. A front side (1b) of the carrier element is provided with an absorption element (3) that is made of soft material.
