PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting a fluidized catalytic cracking residual oil (CLO) into a hydrocarbon oil which is light and includes a high content of aromatic fractions such as a gasoline fraction and a kerosene/light oil fraction. SOLUTION: In a method for producing a high aromatic hydrocarbon oil, the high aromatic hydrocarbon oil is produced by using a desulfurized heavy oil (DSAR) obtained by hydrodesulfurizing and hydrocracking a heavy oil in a heavy oil direct desulfurizing (RH) apparatus, and catalytically cracking it as a raw material oil of a residual oil fluidized catalytic cracking (RFCC) apparatus or of a fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) apparatus, wherein the heavy oil is previously subjected to aggregation relaxation treatment of asphaltene at 150-350°C.
