PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet folding device capable of adjusting a tilt of a folding position without giving an influence to the folding length and without generating a wrinkle. SOLUTION: The sheet folding device includes: a first folding roller 111 and a driven roller 111a for conveying a paper sheet; a first stopper 141 for forming a bend in a sheet by making the end of a conveyed sheet abut thereon; a pair of first and second folding rollers 111 and 112 for forming a folding line in the sheet by nipping a bent part of the sheet; a movable guide plate 301 covering a part of the folding roller 111 and guiding the sheet; and adjusting mechanisms 701, 702 and 703 for adjusting the position or a tilt of the movable guide plate 301. The exposed quantity of the folding roller relative to the sheet can be changed (can be adjusted) by adjusting the position of the guide member by the adjusting mechanisms.
