A METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR A GENERATION OF AN EXCITATION EFFECT

A method of generating an excitation effect (20) based on a multimedia stream (2) wherein the multimedia stream comprises at least a first stream (22) and a second stream (24). The method comprises the following steps: performing a first analysis (30) of the first stream (22) and a second analysis (32) of the second stream (24), and generating (34) the excitation effect (20) based on the results (14;16) of the first analysis (30) and the second analysis (32). Performing the first analysis (30) and the second analysis (32) comprises detecting a time stamp (tl) where the first stream (22) has a first stream feature (36) that dictates that the excitation effect (20) should be generated and where the second stream (24) has a second stream feature (38) that dictates that the excitation effect (20) should be generated. The excitation effect (20) is generated synchronously to the time stamp (tl) detected by the first analysis (30) and the second analysis (32). The invention also provides a system for generating an excitation effect (20) based on a multimedia stream (2) that comprises at least a first stream (22) and a second stream (24) and is configured for making use of the method described above. The method and the system afford an improved quality of excitation experiences.
