A sheet-like tactile sensor system is equipped with a plurality of vertical stress detection sensor units (300) which can detect vertical stress, and a sheet layer (200). The sheet layer (200) has an outer sheet layer (210), a force detection sheet layer (230) incorporating the vertical stress detection sensor units (300), and an intermediary layer (220) sandwiched between the outer sheet layer (210) and the force detection sheet layer (230). The outer sheet layer (210) and the force detection sheet layer (230) have a plurality of protrusions (212, 232) protruding in the direction facing each other, and arranged oppositely so that the protrusions (212, 232) mesh each other with the intermediary layer (220) interposed therebetween. Each vertical stress detection sensor unit (300) has a central part detection sensor device (310) which is arranged directly under the central part of the protrusion (232) provided in the force detection sheet layer (230), and at least two edge detection sensor devices (321-324) which are arranged directly under the edge of the protrusion (232) provided in the force detection sheet layer (230).
