The exchanger has a tube bundle (12) partially running within a cylindrical housing (10), and a pre-chamber (18) arranged at a side of the housing, where the pre-chamber is provided in fluid connection with the tube bundle. A partition wall (34) is arranged in the pre-chamber for dividing the pre-chamber into sub-chambers. The partition wall is partially welded with a wall of the pre-chamber. The partition wall consists of partial partition walls that are fluid-tightly welded with each other, and the housing is cylindrically formed. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tube bundle heat exchanger.
