<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a menu system which is flexible to a user who operates an electronic menu which relates to an optical storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: According to the menu system, the menu is selected by a remote control key and includes buttons (INV1-INV4) to which an image or text is not related. Consequently, an 'invisible button', which automatically executes a command in response to the selection, is generated, and a sound or a sound sequence, for example, a melody or a click sound, is related to a prescribed button state.
