<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surge voltage suppressor device for preventing a failure caused by dispersion of characteristics of a semiconductor device used for suppressing a surge voltage, and for detecting a failed state of the semiconductor device immediately. <P>SOLUTION: The surge voltage suppressor provided between respective phases at a motor end includes a clamping unit 10 composed of transistors M1, M2 comprising a power MOSFET, a protection unit 11 comprising a fuse F1 that is fused to break an energization path of the clamping unit 10 when the clamping unit 10 is short-circuited, a detection unit 12 for outputting a failure detection signal indicating that the clamping unit 10 is in a failed state to an inverter when the protection unit 11 is fused. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
