<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-electrode assembly with a gas sealing member arranged on an outer circumference part, which can protect an electrolyte membrane in a vicinity of the gas sealing member by using an existing constituent and can reduce manufacturing man-hours and cost. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane-electrode assembly M1 includes electrode catalyst layers 11, 12 and water-repellent layers 21, 22 in a laminated state on respective surfaces on an anode side and a cathode side of an electrolyte membrane 1. The gas sealing members 41, 42 on the anode side and cathode side are arranged along an outer circumference of them. The outer circumference part of the electrolyte membrane 1 and water-repellent layers 11, 12 is interposed by both of the gas sealing members 41, 42. Thus, the electrolyte membrane 1 in the vicinity of the gas sealing members 41, 42 are protected by using a portion of the water-repellent layers 21, 22 as the existing constituent to reduce the manufacturing man-hours and cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
