PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide diamond particles having advantageous heat radiating property in a state in which the diamond particles are used fitted in a tool matrix. SOLUTION: This double coating diamond polishing agent particle is produced by a method including: depositing a first metal selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, and Si on the surface of a particle-sized diamond powder constituting particle as a carbide according to a reaction between the first metal and diamond, or depositing the first metal in a metal state and carbonizing the first metal or forming a first coating layer with the deposited first metal as it is; and forming a second coating layer composed of a second metal simple substance selected from Cu, Ag, and Au or an alloy containing mainly the second metal on the first coating layer by an electrical plating or a chemical plating.
