PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device shortening an operating time while securing speed stability in required timing by controlling start-up timing of a motor. SOLUTION: A CPU 100 calculates start-up time T1 to achieve target speedω90 being 90% of specified rotational speedωref from a current value of a fixing driving motor 110 (S3). The CPU 100 calculates the start-up timing Tstart by subtracting the start-up time T1 from time tθ20 taken until displacement in pressuring drive becomes 20% from timing reference t0 (S4). The CPU 100 also compares latter acceleration time T2 with time Teng taken to reach a final reaching position from a position where the displacement reaches 20% by the pressuring drive during initial acceleration (S9). When the latter acceleration time T2 exceeds the pressuring drive time Teng, a value obtained by adding the difference to the start-up timing determined in S4 is determined as final start-up timing Tstart (S10).
