PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal information management system or the like that minimizes leakage of personal information by properly managing personal information of users even when there is an unauthorized access and so on.

SOLUTION: A personal information management server includes: a first storage means for storing owner information on owners of communication terminals; a second storage means for storing friend relationship information that specifies the owners having friend relationship to permit disclosure of the owner information mutually; a specification means for specifying the owners corresponding to the owner information and the owners having friend relationship by referring to the friend relationship information when the owner information is updated; and an updating request means for updating personal information corresponding to the updated owner information that is registered in a telephone directory of the communication terminal, according to the updated content of the owner information.
