PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which reduces costs when the communication of a plurality of signals is performed through a communication cable, and to provide a communication system. SOLUTION: In the communication device, input consoles 50, 52 are connected to a display 46, and a plurality of signals including output signals of the inputting consoles 50, 52 and picture signals are transmitted and received through a communication cable 60 between a remote unit 40 and a local unit 20. In addition, the communication device has a transmission means which consolidates the output signals of the inputting consoles 50, 52 and a prescribed signal which is used for controlling at least either a computer device 24 or a remote power source device 30 into one signal, and then transmits the signal, and a control means which controls the transmission means so that it may consolidate the prescribed signal after the transmission of the output signals of the consoles 50, 52 in the case that the prescribed signal is transmitted during the transmission of the output signals of the inputting consoles 50, 52.
