PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier and two-component developer, capable of being controlled in resistance in a wide range, which involve no carrier deposition, which provide good reproducibility of thin lines such as letters while suppressing an edge effect, which form high-fineness images without color stains, which stably change in charge amounts even when toner consumption is small, which show little change in a charge amount and resistance with increase of copied sheets and thereby overcoming failures such as toner scattering and uneven image density, and capable of maintaining favorable images over a long period of time, and to provide an image forming method using the developer. SOLUTION: The carrier for a two-component developer comprising at least a toner and a carrier includes a resin coating layer on a surface of a carrier core material, wherein the resin coating layer contains a particulate material containing at least two kinds of conductive particles. First fine conductive particles and second fine conductive particles satisfy the relationships of (Expression 1):3≤D1/D2≤15 in terms of D1/D2, where D1 denotes a dispersed particle size of the first fine conductive particles and D2 denotes a dispersed particle size of the second fine conductive fine particles, and (Expression 2):-7E≤R1×R2<8E in terms of R1×R2, where R1 denotes a powder specific resistance of the first fine conductive particles and R2 denotes a powder specific resistance of the second fine conductive fine particles.
