PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which even if a protective layer receives ion sputtering by driving for a long time, there is less change on a protective layer surface on a scanning electrode, and change of discharge characteristics such as write-in characteristics is suppressed. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a front face plate in which the scanning electrode and a sustaining electrode comprised by laminating a transparent electrode and a bus electrode become to form a pair, form a discharge gap, and are formed in a plurality of numbers as a display electrode pair. The distance between the bus electrode of the scanning electrode and the discharge gap is longer than that between the bus electrode of the sustaining electrode and the discharge gap.
