PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of showing high-speed responsiveness and stability which are excellent in a wide temperature range. SOLUTION: In this device having a pair of substrates 101, 201, a plurality of polymer structures 7 are formed on each pixel, by a polymer stabilization step by ultraviolet irradiation where a liquid crystal composition constituted of a fluorine-based nematic liquid crystal, a polymeric monomer and a polymerization initiator is enclosed between the pair of substrates 101, 201, and then masked. A liquid crystal display device is constituted by arranging a plurality of pixels each having a liquid crystal layer 3 including a monomer residual amount, and a plurality of polymer structures 7 connecting the pair of substrates 101, 201.
