PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction between the flange inner face of a flange formed on the bearing ring of a roller bearing and the end faces of rolling elements. SOLUTION: A cage 1 is formed by providing a plurality of pockets 2, columns 3 connecting the pockets and projection pieces 4 projecting to an inner ring side of the respective columns, and recesses 5 are formed in the axial outer sides of the tips of the projection pieces 4. When the cage 1 is fitted in an inner ring 8, the projection pieces 4 face the flange inner face 10 on the inner side of the flange 9 formed on the inner ring. During rotation of the roller bearing, a lubricant adhered to the projection pieces 4 is applied to the flange inner face 10 so that the flange inner face 10 is lubricated and friction between the flange inner face 10 and the end faces of the cylindrical rollers 11 can be reduced.
