An olefin polymer is coloured and thermally degraded in the absence of oxygen by heating to from 360 DEG to 550 DEG C. in the presence of a pigment dye. The process may be carried out in a screw extruder, and specified pigments are cadmium sulphide, cadmium selenide, chromium oxide green, ultramarine blue, phthalocyanine dyes, titanium white, graphite, carbon black and iron oxide. |
