<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device with excellent safety and reliability, which can surely prevent leak of internal information from a USB port, and a control method and a program therefor. <P>SOLUTION: When validity is set on a setup menu screen displayed when an electronic device 1 is activated, supply of source voltage to an external USB port 30 is turned on by a GPIO pin 21 of a south bridge 20, and source voltage is supplied to the external USB port 30, whereby operation of a USB device 31 to be connected to the external USB port 30 is allowed. When invalidity is set, the supply of source voltage to the USB port 30 is turned off by the GPIO pin 21 of the south bridge 20, and no source voltage is supplied to the USB port 30.
