<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of preventing toner accumulation, and to provide a toner container. <P>SOLUTION: The transporting member 400 formed to be columnar includes a rotary shaft 410 rotated by a motor (not shown), and a protruding portion 420 provided to protrude from the rotary shaft 410. The diameter of the rotary shaft 410 varies in an axial direction thereof. The rotary shaft has a large-diameter portion 411 on a downstream side in a toner transport direction and a small-diameter portion 412 on an upstream side in the toner transport direction.
