PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and universally access data of a communication target device by an access trying device such as an electronic device.

SOLUTION: A peripheral device 3 includes: an input/output portion 12 connected to the access trying device 2; a communication portion 13 for carrying out communications with the communication target device 4; and a conversion portion 31 that converts a storage access command outputted to the input/output portion 12 by the access trying device 2 into a communication command between the communication potion 13 and communication target device 4 if the communication target device 4 is a storage. The communication portion 13 transmits the communication command generated by the conversion portion 31 to the communication target device 4 and carries out transmission and reception between the communication target device 4, of data to be written in the communication target device 4 by the access trying device 2 and data read from the communication target device 4.
