<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of correctly measuring distances from an indoor unit to a front surface and right and left sidewalls, and performing an efficient air conditioning operation by controlling a wind direction changing blade or an indoor fan on the basis of results of correct measurements. <P>SOLUTION: In the indoor unit provided with an imaging device, a distance from the indoor unit to a circumferential wall of an indoor unit installation space is measured by an obstacle detecting means by the imaging device, a distance from the indoor unit to a corner section existing on the circumferential wall is calculated on the basis of the measured distance to the circumferential wall, a distance from the indoor unit to the corner section is measured by the obstacle detecting means, a distance from the indoor unit to the circumferential wall is determined by comparing the measured distance to the corner section and the calculated distance to the corner section, and the wind direction changing blade is controlled on the basis of the determined distance to the circumferential wall. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
