DIRECT ACCESS MEMORY CONTROLLER WITH MULTIPLE SOURCES, CORRESPONDING METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synchronize data from non-synchronized different sources by a DMA controller.

SOLUTION: DMA controllers 10 and 20 are programmed to transfer data from several data sources to at least one addressee through several buffer memories. The DMA controllers 10 and 20 comprise a read management module 30 designed to read data stored in the buffer memories and to transfer the data in sequence to the addressee, and a read pointer storage means 38 associated with the buffer memories respectively. For each buffer memory, the controllers 10 and 20 have a means for executing a firmware to read data from the buffer memory and synchronizing executions of the firmwares in accordance with a predetermined order of data originating from buffer memories required in the data sequence to be transferred to addresses.
