PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating for filaments that enhances the resistance of a filament to cuts and/or abrasions. SOLUTION: Depending upon a material utilized to form the filament to be coated, the appropriate coating in the appropriate amount may be selected to coat the filament thereby imparting resistance to abrasions and cuts to the filament.
