A surface treatment is performed to reduce a surface energy of respective peripheral edge regions 3b, 3′b of an adhesion surface 3a of a display main body 1 and an adhesion surface 3′a of a transparent plate 2 below a surface energy of a region on the inside of the respective peripheral edge regions 3b, 3′b of the two adhesion surfaces 3a, 3′a and a surface energy of an adhesive 5 used for adhesion. The display main body 1 and the transparent plate 2 are then disposed such that the two adhesion surfaces 3a, 3′a oppose each other via a gap, whereupon the adhesive is injected into the gap.
