The invention relates to a device for examining cells and having an elastomer, and to the use of said device. The elastomer (1) has a bottom (2, 3) and a thicker edge area (4, 6, 8), and regular microstructures are arranged in the bottom (3). Such elastomers are particularly suitable for stretch tests, in particular of the uniaxial type. The invention further relates to advantageous uses of such devices.
